Governor Pritzker Slams Trump; Requests Blood Donations; Nearly 300 New Coronavirus Cases

Governor JB Pritzker held his 14th press conference dedicated to the coronavirus outbreak, and made an urgent plea for blood donations. He also sent a fiery message to President Donald Trump accusing the President of not doing enough for the state after President Trump sent a fiery tweet at the Governor Sunday morning.

President Trump’s tweet said,

"@JBPritzker, Governor of Illinois, and a very small group of certain other Governors, together with Fake News @CNN & Concast (MSDNC), shouldn’t be blaming the Federal Government for their own shortcomings. We are there to back you up should you fail, and always will be!”

Governor Pritzker said it’s heartening to see Illinois Republicans joining with Democrats to see what they can do to help. The Governor said he is tired though of getting no support from the President who promised to help.

Director of Public Health Dr. Ngoze Ezike gave the update on new cases of COVID-19 in the State of Illinois, as there are 296 new cases of coronavirus and that number continues to rise. Over 8,300 people have been tested and there are 1,049 confirmed cases with 9 deaths. There are still concerns over whether or not a pregnant woman with COVID-19 can pass the virus to their children.

Celena Roldán, CEO of the Red Cross Illinois made an urgent plea for blood donations.
