The City of Taylorville announced that due to the Shelter in Place order put into effect by Governor JB Pritzker, the opening of the Lake Taylorville Campground and Lake Lots will be postponed until April 8th. The due date for leases and payments has been extended until April 7th.

The Taylorville Park District also announced that they are closed through April 7th. The order specifically states that individuals may leave their residence to engage in outdoor activities such as walking, hiking, running, or biking and may go to public parks and open recreational areas if they comply with the social distancing requirements, but playgrounds must be closed. Use of playgrounds on any park property is strictly prohibited.
