Coronavirus Cases In Illinois Rise To 585 In 25 Counties; 5 Deaths Reported So Far; Testing Increasing

There are 585 cases of coronavirus cases in Illinois right now with 163 new ones today included in new counties like Adams, Christian, and McLean. Cases have occurred in residents ages 3 through 99. Dr. Ngozi Ezike, Director of Public Health says that the state is still working on making testing more efficient. 

 

 

There have been over 4,280 people tested and there have been 5 deaths in Illinois so far.  Dr. Ezike says that Walgreens and Walmart have been helping with testing as well who will focus on health care workers, first responders, and senior citizens.  Dr. Ezike says the state continues to work on hospital capacity. 

 

Governor JB Pritzker delivered a message of hope for those in Illinois who may think things are bleak right now.
