First Person In Christian County Tests Positive For COVID-19

A person in Christian County has contracted COVID-19. Mike Havera, public information officer, informed Regional Radio News that the person is following all quarantine rules and guidelines and self quarantining.

County Chairwoman Becky Edwards has made an emergency declaration for Christian County as part of the Emergency Plan for more resources if need be. Havera says that there may be other individuals that may be placed on home quarantine.

The public is asked to share trusted information on COVID-19 and to not spread false information about the virus.

Christian County Public Health Director Denise Larson says 13 people were tested, 6 came back negative, 1 came back positive, and they are still waiting results on 6 tests. IDPH does batch testing and result turnarounds usually are two to three days. No further details have been released about the Christian County resident who tested positive for COVID-19.
