Governor Pritzker Announces Relief For Restaurants; Addresses Rumors

Governor JB Pritzker announced in his daily press conference today that 3 more people have died from COVID-19 or the coronavirus. Deaths include one man in his 50’s from Will County, A Cook County resident in his 80’s and a visitor to Sangamon County. Governor Pritzker announced Thursday that certain stores are offering special hours just for senior citizens. The Governor also urged Illinoisans to stop hoarding and to start smart shopping. 

 

Governor Pritzker also announced relief for small and medium bars and restaurants.

 

Governor Pritzker has also announced that the National Guard is helping set up mobile test sites and helping hospital workers to treat those who are sick. There are now 422 cases in Illinois in 22 counties. The Governor also addressed rumors, saying that highways were NOT shutting down.

 

 

Governor Pritzker also addressed what it would take for him to put into place a shutdown saying that they are constantly monitoring the situation.
