TPD Arrests Two on Meth Charges

The Taylorville Police Department issued a press release on Thursday morning announcing the arrest of two men on drug charges. The Taylorville Police Community Action Team conducted surveillance at a residence in regard to drug trafficking.

The Police were receiving complaints and when TPD observed a vehicle leaving the residence, they conducted a traffic stop, recovering several grams of suspected methamphetamine and seized $1,903.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

35-year-old Joshua M. Spinner of Taylorville and 38-year-old Scott H. Patnode of Edinburg were arrested on possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver.

Chief Dwayne Wheeler says that the Police Department understands that we are in a crisis, but bad elements do not stop dealing narcotics or committing a crime. Chief Wheeler warned that they are still acting on every complaint they receive and if you see something, say something.

Chief Wheeler is concerned that there might be a spike in crime due to the stress and unscheduled downtime that some have. If you see an issue, contact the Taylorville Police Department.

While both men were arrested on charges, Regional Radio News wants to remind you that all subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
