Montgomery County Holds Election Results

Montgomery County had their elections on Tuesday and NEWSTALK WTIM brought live coverage throughout the evening. In contested election results, Joe Biden took the Democratic nomination for president over Bernie Sanders 66%-24%. Betsy Dirksen Londrigan defeated Stefanie Smith 78%-21% for the US Representative 13 District nomination. For the democratic nominating convention, Chuck Napier, Sue Scherer, Ellen Schanzle-Haskins, Mark Robert Maddock, and Ada Owens locked up the 5 spots, with Napier getting 15% of the votes. 

 

In contested election results on the Republican side, Donald Trump defeated Rocky De La Fuente 97%-2%. Mark C. Curran Jr. defeated Peggy Hubbard 35%-26% for the Republican U.S.Senate nomination. Avery Bourne defeated Lawrence Oliver 83%-16% for State Representative for the 95th District. For County Board Member District 2, Gene Miles and Jim Havera won the nomination over Chuck Graden. Miles had 37% of the vote. David K. Overstreet defeated John B. Barberis 75%-24% in the Supreme Judicial District 5 nomination. Katherine Ruocco defeated Mark M. Boie 50%-49% for the Appellate Judicial District 5. For the Precinct Committee Person (Irving) Kirby K. Furness defeated James E. Jones 56%-43%. 

 

Hillsboro voted yes on cannabis 50.27%-49.73%. The votes were 370-366.
