Shelby County Election Results

Shelby County had their elections on Tuesday and NEWSTALK WTIM brought live coverage throughout the evening. In contested election results, Joe Biden took the Democratic nomination for president over Bernie Sanders 69%-22%. Kevin Gaither won the Democratic Congressional 15th District Representative nomination with 28% of the vote. For the Congressional 15th District Delegate Democrat position, Natalie Phelps Finnie, Patrick H. Scates, and Vivian Robinson won the nominations with Finnie leading with 25% of the votes. 

 

For the Republican contested election results, Donald Trump won with 98% of the votes over Rocky De La Fuente. Peggy Hubbard won the Republican US Senator nomination with 32% of the votes. Mary Miller won the 15th District Representative nomination with 71% of the votes.  For County Board 2nd District, Mark A. Bennett won with 76% of the votes. David K. Overstreet defeated John B. Barberis 73%-26% for 5th District Supreme Court Judge and Katherine Ruocco defeated Mark M. Boie 51%-48% for Appellate Court Judge 5th Judicial District. 

 

In propositions, it was approved to repair the Chautauqua building 59%-40% and Cowden Village said no to the Liquor Sale Proposition 59%-40%.
