The Illinois State Police are investigating a plane crash in Logan County. At 8:49 Tuesday morning, a small airplane crashed on I-55 at mile marker 126 in Lincoln. The plane became fully engulfed upon impact in the middle of the interstate. There were 3 people on board. Reports from ISP is that the Logan County Coroner is on the scene.  Multiple agencies are on the scene to assist including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). I-55 Southbound traffic is being diverted at mile marker 126 into Lincoln by IDOT. The I-55 Southbound lane is expected to be closed for up to 5 hours.
