The Illinois State Police are investigating a hit and run fatality in Lincoln. On Monday afternoon at 12:30, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a truck tractor semi-trailer while crossing old Route 66 in front of Lincoln Hospital. ISP District 9 along with the ISP Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit, responded to the scene at the request of the Lincoln Police Department.

The crash remains under investigation. Details of the deceased pedestrian is being withheld until next of kin is notified. The driver of the vehicle was a 60-year-old male from Amarillo, Texas. The vehicle that hit the deceased was a 2007 Freightliner Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer.
