Opiod Training Event Tonight at TMH

There is no doubt that in recent memory Central Illinois has been dealing with an opiod problem and Christian County is no different.

President and CEO of Tayorville Memorial Hospital Kim Bourne wants to encourage you to stop by TMH this evening at 6 for their event in opiod training to help learn how to handle someone who might be battling an opiod addiction.

Bourne points out some of the warning signs to look out for with someone who might be on opiods, she says sometimes it starts from prescription pain killers and develops to something much worse.

Bourne says often after surgery doctors would be handing out opiods to deal with pain, now that is changing as Tylenol has been go to starting dose and if that doesn't work then the next step will be up to the doctor.

Bourne appeared as a guest on the Newstalk WTIM Morning Show.
