For those who may not know a lot of work goes into beef and swine shows, and the hard work that the kids put in oftentimes goes unnoticed. But it doesn’t go unnoticed by the family members, judges, and the kids themselves. Bo Bennett showed beef cattle at the Shelby County 4H and Junior Fair last week. He says there is more to showing cattle than just presenting.
Bennett says the 4-H program is something that will set him up for a career that he wants—even if he has to wake up at 4:45 in the morning.
There are over 200,000 kids that participate in 4H in Illinois.
