Everybody has dreams of what they want to do when they grow up.  Some kids want to be firefighters, some kids want to be doctors, and other kids want to be race car drivers.  Matthew Holt, a Decatur native, is one of those guys.  Holt got his start in racing the same way other kids did, by BMX, Go-Kart, and working his way up. 

Holt says racing brings local communities together where you have a chance to watch your friends race and gives you a feel good story.

Holt is the 17th ranked driver in the world in the National Rock Racing Association, which takes courses off-road up and down steep cliffs, valleys, water, and anything else mother nature throws at it. Holt uses local for everything and fixes a lot of equipment on his vehicle in Taylorville and continues to support small business. Holt says he encourages anyone who wants to race to just do it.
