Gas Tax Being Used to Improve Roads

When the calendar flipped to July Illinois residents saw the price of gas jump up nearly 20 cents a gallon. Our representatives in Springfield are putting every penny of this towards improving our roads.

State Senator Andy Manar represents the 48th District of Illinois. He says this gas tax is long over due as it has been nearly three decades since the tax was raised.

Manar sees the gas tax paying dividends in the long run as once the roads are fixed tax payers will be saving their vehicles from the wear and tear of driving on rough roads.

Manar appeared as a guest on the Newstalk WTIM Morning Show.
