UPDATE: DUI in Blue Mound for Pana Resident

UPDATED AS OF 2PM:  The man arrested in a DUI arrest in Blue Mound appeared in Macon County Court today after a crash that resulted in a person being airlifted to an area hospital.  35 year old Zachary Dionne of Pana appeared in court today with multiple charges including aggravated DUI causing bodily harm, failure to reduce speed, operating an uninsured vehicle, and improper lane usage.  Dionne has a $30,000 bond and appeared in court on Friday morning.

 

Dionne was booked at 3:17 Friday morning.

 

A crash in Macon County has led to a person being airlifted to an area hospital. The Macon County Sheriff’s office is investigating a crash that happened on Route 48 and Seberling Street in Blue Mound at 11:40 PM on the fourth of July. A Pontiac Grand Prix was headed North on Illinois Route 48 when it ran off the side of the road striking a tree, utility pole, outbuilding and a parked camper. The accident also damaged a garage. One passenger suffered what was originally thought to be serious injuries but has since been downgraded to minor injuries in the crash. That person was flown by helicopter to an area hospital. The driver of the Grand Prix was arrested for DUI.
