A new construction project will help fix an old culvert on US 51.  Construction work will commence July 15th in an effort to widen and resurface pavement and replace a 1920’s culvert a mile north of Illinois 16.  Joe Schatteman, A community outreach liaison for the Illinois Department of Transportation, says that this has been in the works for nearly 5 years.

Schatteman says that motorists can expect delays and check IDOT for more information on the delays.

The project is supposed to finish by mid-September.
