Taylorville To Swear In New Police Chief At City Council Meeting

The city of Taylorville will swear in a new police chief Monday evening.  At Monday’s City Council meeting, Judge Brad T. Paisley will swear in Dwayne Wheeler, former police chief of Kincaid, as the police chief of Taylorville.  Dwayne Wheeler has been the chief of Kincaid since January of 2015, before being selected by Mayor Bruce Barry to be the Taylorville Police Chief.  Wheeler will be taking over for Brian Hile who will be retiring. Other actions that will take place at the meeting will be recommendations to expand the business development district, approve appointments for a business development district committee, and a recommendation to replace curbs and sidewalks along the parking lot at West Main Cross and Webster and Market Streets. The meeting will take place on the second floor of the Municipal Building at 7PM in Taylorville.
