WMKR 94.3, Taylorville Kiwanis Holding First Ever Pie Auction Fund Raiser Live On-Air Thursday

Miller Media Group radio station WMKR Genuine Country 94.3, and the Taylorville Kiwanis Club, will hold their first-ever Pie Auction to benefit children and youth in the Taylorville community, this Thursday starting at 9 in the morning.

Local dignataries will appear in 30-minute segments, each with a pie that will be auctioned on the air, with all the proceeds going to the Taylorville Kiwanis Club to benefit local Kiwanis projects for children and youth.  Projects supported by the local Kiwanis Club include Coats for Kids, Kiwanis Park, the Christian County YMCA, and high school scholarships among others.

The local Kiwanis Club puts nearly 10-thousand dollars a year into local projects for children and youth, and monies raised on Thursday will help fund that mission.

Residents are encouraged to listen to the live pie auction, and call a special number that day to place their bid for a pie live on the air.  The number to call is 777-W-M-K-R.

Scheduled dignitaries to appear on the first-ever WMKR Taylorville Kiwanis Pie Auction to benefit children and youth, include Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp, State Representative Avery Bourne, and many local business owners and representatives.

The Taylorville Kiwanis Club is part of global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.  Weekly meetings are held Tuesdays at noon at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium.  For information on the club, go to taylorvillekiwanis.com.
