Taylorville Kiwanis Holds Business Meeting at Weekly Luncheon

The Taylorville Kiwanis Club heard about the club’s ongoing activities for children and youth, at their monthly business meeting during their weekly luncheon Tuesday at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium.

Final numbers from the recent Kiwanis Pancake and Sausage Day were announced, with the club netting over 3-thousand dollars to assist in local programs for children and youth.  The Kiwanis Club thanks all those who came out for the January event.

May 14th is the date set for the Club’s annual Prayer Luncheon.  Kiwanis member Dick Wamsley is again chairing this event.  The Kiwanis Club will again award its annual “Community Spiritual Leader” plaque, to a worthy individual at the Prayer Luncheon.

The local Kiwanis Club will be doing further fund raising efforts with their first-ever Pie Auction on WMKR Genuine Country 94.3 on April 18th, and the annual Kiwanis Radiothon will be heard on WRAN groovy 97.3 on August 6th. Again, monies for these fund-raising efforts go towards the club’s many programs for children and youth including Coats for Kids, Kiwanis Park, and scholarships for high school students and the Christian County Y-M-C-A.

The Taylorville Kiwanis Club is part of global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.  Weekly meetings are held Tuesdays at noon at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium.  For information on the club, go to taylorvillekiwanis.com.
