City Council Honors THS Boys Basketball at Monthly Meeting

On Monday, the Taylorville City Council held their first monthly meeting at Taylorville City Hall. First honored was the Youth of the Month where the Taylorville High School boys basketball team was honored. The team finished the season with the most wins since 1952 before their season came to end Friday night against Lincoln. Following that, the council passing motions including the ratification of a contract with Tullis Excavating for Sewer Work for the Steak N’ Shake project at a cost of $19.20 per foot.  Also passed was as motion to authorize the Mayor to sign and execute the business agreements with potential Enterprise Zone companies with approval of the City Attorney. That also lead to the later passing of the motion to approve the Mayor to execute the agreement with WCR Enterprise, LTD. to prepare the new Enterprise Zone application. According to Barry, Taylorville’s current Enterprise Zone expires in 2021, so the city is working to apply ahead of time.

 

 

Following that was the committee reports where all motions were passed from the Finance, Ordinance, and Street and Sewer committee. The Taylorville City Council meets on the first and third Monday of every month.
