Alderman Jones Retires at Latest Council Meeting

On Tuesday night, the Taylorville City Council held thier second monthly meeting, and it started off with two big announcments. First, the volunteers of the month were honored, and it went to all 13 members of Missions for Taylorville after their efforst to help raise money, and help those affected, after the December 1st tornado. The second announcement was expected, but emotional as Alderman Bruce Jones announced his retirement from the council.



After the meeting, Jones reflected on his 17 years working with the city of Taylorville.



After that, the council passed four motions before getting to the committee reports. The Emergency Services, Water and Environmental, and Lake and Airport committess all had motions passed.


The Taylorville City Council meets on the first and third Monday of every month.
