Visiting Restrictions in Place at TMH to Prevent Spread of Influenza

Taylorville Memorial Hospital is taking precautions to avoid the spread of influenza by placing temporary visiting restrictions. Despite flu activity being low in Christian County, many children are coming down with the illness according to Peggy Chapman a registered nurse at TMH.

Chapman says that when they look at past flu activity, its lower this season compared to last year despite the children.

The safest way to avoid the flu is to wash your hands, but they’re are still other precautions that can be taken.

For the safety of patients and their families, Memorial Health System is recommending that inpatient hospital visits be limited to two vistors per patient, and all must be 18 years or older.
