The Illinois State Treasurers Office is getting into the Christmas spirit and the love the season of giving.

Mike Frerichs is the State Treasurer of Illinois he says the best gift is the gift that keeps on giving. Frerichs says this holiday season a great gift would be starting a college fund for your young one.

Frerichs says the climbing rate of college debt is alarming, and getting a college fund started as soon as possible could go a long way in not hand cuffing a college graduate upon graduation.
