Taylorville High School was put on lockdown at 9:50 Wednesday morning, after Taylorville Police were made aware of a handwritten note found at the high school.
Deputy Police Chief Vince Childers told Regional Radio News that the note was threatening in nature.
Childers added that a CODE RED lockdown took place for about an hour while classes continued.
Officers remained at the school thru early afternoon.
Taylorville Police and Taylorville High School officials were both involved in the investigation. Charges against a female juvenile are pending.
