Taylorville City Council Decides on Sewer Line Connection Charge for Local Church at Monday Night Meeting

On Monday night, at the Municipal building in Taylorville, the City Council met to discuss items such as the Walnut Street Project, TIF District, new insurance policies, and the Taylorville Christian Church.

After a decisive 5-4 motion, the City Council decided to have the Taylorville Christian Church pay the city $1,300 for not getting the proper permit to dig when it comes to sewer work. Alderman Earl Walters was the last member of the City Council to vote after passing the first time around.

Alderman Walters’ vote tied the motion 4-4, and Mayor Barry made the final and decisive vote, and voted yes.

The next City Council Meeting will be held on July 16th at 7 in the evening.
