One Illinois congressman is calling for more security in schools after last week’s school shooting in Florida left 17 dead.
U.S. House Representative Rodney Davis says it’s time to help local schools secure their buildings with federal funds if possible.
Davis is a father, and he says he worries for his own kids as he sends them to school.
Davis says if it weren’t for armed security guards, he wouldn’t be alive today after the Republican baseball practice shooting last summer.
Davis appeared as a guest on the Newstalk WTIM Morning Show.
