There's no sleet or snow this time of year, but mail carriers will be helping the hungry regardless of the weather this weekend in the 21 counties served by the Central Illinois Foodbank. On Saturday, Postal Service employees will pick up nonperishable food left in sturdy bags by mailboxes as part of the Stamp Out Hunger food drive. Last year, letter carriers collected 34,000 pounds of food in the Central Illinois Foodbank's territory.
