Taylorville aldermen Monday night voted a 2nd time, on a motion previously passed at their March 2nd meeting, donating 25-hundred dollars from the city's hotel-motel tax, to the Taylorville High School Band. The money will go towards their trip to play in the Independence Day Parade in Washington, D-C. Finance committee chairman Larry Budd brought the revised motion to the council Monday night. Also heard is reaction from city attorney Rocci Romano and alderman Earl Walters.

The motion passed unanimously.
Regional Radio News asked Budd after Monday night's meeting to identify the businessperson questionning the legality of using the city's hotel-motel tax to support the band's trip, and Budd said it was the owners of the local bed and breakfast.

Budd added that Mrs. Houser indicated she would continue to fight the Council's decision thru council committees as well as thru the state.
