Over 160 people attended Thursday night's annual fund-raising banquet of the Loving Arms Crisis Pregnancy Center at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium.
Following dinner, the center's Executive Director Cathy Coker, shared with the gathering, a report on the Center's activities in the past 12 months. The Center provided services to some 90 men and women in 525 visits, and as a result of the Center's efforts, 23 new babies were born.
The Center also provides options counseling, referrals for medical and community services, a post-abortion recovery and support program, abstinence education, and fatherhood classes.
Guest speaker was Abby Johnson, who after 8 years working at a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, resigned and walked out of the clinic after a change of heart while participating in an ultrasound-guided abortion procedure. Johnson told the Loving Arms gathering that after the agency wanted to double the abortion quota, she began to question the organization she was working at.

Today, Johnson travels the country sharing her story and motivating others to continue the pro-life fight.
