On Tuesday night at about 7:25 pm, a pickup truck driven by Jeff Lynn Bingham, 53, of Taylorville struck an apartment building at 235 Railroad Avenue in Blue Mound. Bingham was critically injured and was transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur where he was pronounced dead at 8:10 pm. According to the Macon County Coroner’s Office, Bingham passed away from trauma to the head and torso. Tom Bingaman, Chief of Police of Blue Mound, tells Regional Radio what exactly happened in the accident.

The investigation of this crash is still on-going by the Blue Mound Police Department and the Macon County Sheriff’s Office.
