Winter Weather Advisory Til 10am Tuesday; Freezing Rain and Sleet Expected

 width=

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the entire Regional Radio listening area, until 10 o'clock Tuesday morning.

The Weather Service says a storm system is spreading precipitation into the Midwest. Freezing rain is expected with this system, mixed with some sleet at times.

Around a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is expected before the temperatures warm to above freezing later in the morning. After the temperatures come up above freezing, the rain will continue into the afternoon before changing over to snow as more cold air moves into the region.

Roads will become slick and dangerous and remain so through  Tuesday morning’s commute. Use extreme caution if you must travel and leave plenty of time to get to your destination.
