The name of the teen who was killed in the accident on Route 104 Wednesday night has been released.

According to the traffic crash investigation, Andrew Gatton, 16, of Kincaid was driving in a Kia Sedona, traveling westbound on Route 104 while a 46 year-old male from Taylorville, driving a Chevrolet Silverado, was traveling east bound at the same location. The investigation indicates Gatton lost control of his vehicle on the slick roadway, crossed the center lane dividing line, and collided head on with the Chevy Silverado. Gatton was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner’s Office, while the passenger in the vehicle, a 19 year-old female, and the driver of the Silverado were both transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. Route 104 at the location was closed to traffic for approximately four hours for the crash investigation. The two other names have not been released to the public.
