In August, Memorial Elementary School in Taylorville started participating in breakfast in the classroom. The program, which is run by the Central Illinois Foodbank, has been a great success for the school. John Farmer, the school breakfast coordinator tells Regional Radio how this program works.
Teachers have told Farmer that kids are more relaxed in the morning and that they’ve had about 20 more minutes to teach. There are currently 13 schools across Central Illinois participating with the Foodbank.
