THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:
On Monday (January 12th, 2015) at 1:00p.m, Taylorville Police conducted a traffic stop. The officer knew of the driver, Aaron M. Steele, to have a suspended license. Steele, 25, of Riverton, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. He was processed and released on a notice to appear.
On Saturday (January 10th, 2015), Denise K. Parks, 51, of Mason was headed North in the turn lane on Webster St. turning left onto Spresser St. Bradley A. Johnson, 39, of Taylorville pulled out of the Subway parking lot heading North on Webster St. Johnson failed to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He said he applied the brakes but they were not working. Johnson had minor front end damage and Parks had puncture marks on the rear bumper. Both vehicles were able to drive away. Johnson was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
