Taylorville City Elections Sees One Race in April

Taylorville City Elections will see one race from the 4 wards in April.

In ward one, incumbent Ray Koonce will be challenged by former city superintendent Clarence “Rocky” Moore. A lottery will take place on December 30th to determine who will be first on the ballot, as both apparently filed at the same time.

In the other 3 wards, incumbent aldermen are not being challenged. In ward 2, Martin Vota is running unopposed; in ward 3, Bruce Jones is unopposed and in Taylorville ward 4 Earl Walters is running without a challenger.

City elections in Illinois are scheduled for April 7th.
