Like many Illinoisians, State Senator Andy Manar says he was shocked and saddened after the unexpected death of Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka last week. The 48tyh District Senator says he and Topinka go way back:

Governor Pat Quinn will appoint someone to fill out the rest of Topinka's current term. It's not known yet if that person will also serve the new term that begins in January.
