Newstalk WTIM THE BIG 870 AM and 96.3 FM in Taylorville, streamed live at taylorvilledailynews.com, will expand its agriculture programming on January 5.
Weekday afternoons at 2:06 will feature the "Closing Market Report" with Todd Gleason from WILL-AM 580 from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, with 30 minutes of commodity market information and analysis.
And, in the 2:30 to 3 o'clock half-hour, agriculture features will be heard from the RFD Radio Network as well as long-time farm broadcaster Stu Ellis.
From 3:07 til 4 weekday afternoons, WTIM listeners will hear "RFD Today," a one-hour agriculture interview show also from the RFD Radio Network.
WTIM president Randal J. Miller said the increase in agriculture programming is a result of WTIM expanding its daytime coverage on 870 AM. WTIM's daytime signal now is bordered by Jacksonville, Peoria, Bloomington, Champaign, Paris, Effingham, and Pana. WTIM already carries over 4 hours a day of ag programming on weekdays, and 2 hours on Saturday mornings.
WTIM is part of the 6-station cluster which operates from studios at 918 East Park in Taylorville. WTIM is owned by the Miller Media Group, which also operates stations in Clinton.
