Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 12-9-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Charles Lange, 45, of Decatur, was arrested on a bond forfeiture warrant for contempt of court.

Del Burkey, 20, of Taylorville, was arrested on December 9th for consumption of liquor by a minor.

Brandon Emery, 24, of Taylorville, was arrested on December 9th for driving on a suspended/revoked license.

 

ACCIDENT:

On December 8th, Shannon M. Coleman, 29, of Girard, was traveling westbound in the 500 block of Borah Avenue in Tovey. Cassie M. Niehaus, 23, of Tovey, was backing in a southbound direction from a private drive at 508 Borah Avenue. Niehaus backed into the roadway and struck Coleman. Coleman received minor rear, passenger side damage and Niehaus received minor rear, driver's side bumper damage. No injuries were reported.

  

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On December 5th at 9:56p.m., officers received a report of a hit and run in the area of Adams and Cherokee Street and the female driver had fled the scene on foot and traveling east. The female, Destiny R. Kee, of Taylorville was located behind 917 East Adams Street. Destiny Kee was arrested for aggravated DUI, hit and run, fleeing the scene of an accident, illegal possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor. Kee was processed and transported to the Christian County Correctional Center.

On December 6th at 4:56 p.m., a Taylorville Police Officer made contact with Brett S. Durbin at the corner of Washington and Market. It was known that Durbin had a valid Christian County warrant. The warrant was verified through L.E.A.D.S. Durbin was placed under arrest and transported to the Christian County Correctional Center.

On December 5th at 9:19 a.m., officer made contact with Ryan M. Tester in the 1500 block of West Elm. Officers knew Tester to have a valid Christian County warrant. Tester, of Taylorville, was detained and requested that he be returned to his apartment to make a call. Once at the apartment, an active methamphetamine lab was located. David K. Matthews was also in the apartment. Subsequent to investigation, David K. Matthews and Ryan M. Tester were arrested for aggravated unlawful participation of methamphetamine production. The Illinois State Police MRT assisted in the investigation.
