If you'd like to help brighten the holdays for our men and women in uniform, it's not too late. Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville is sponsoring a Packages for the Military drive. 

Items accepted will include: dried fruits, nuts, beef jerky and other snacks like chips, microwave popcorn, gum and candy. You may also provide instant coffee and cocoa and other drink mixes. There is also a need for a variety of toiletries and personal hygiene products including sunscreen. They need white cotton crew socks, pillowcases and local area T-shirts. Also appreciated will be pens, pencils, crossword puzzle books, hand-held games, cards and dice. They are also accepting donations towards the postage costs.

You can drop off your items at Davis Memorial Christian Church at 1500 West Franklin through Sunday (11-39). If you have questions, call the church office at (217) 824-8181.
