Retailers are keeping a close eye out for shoplifters, especially at this time of year. A local woman found that out the hard way last Wednesday (11-19).

Taylorville Officers were called to the Taylorville Walmart just before 11:00am. An employee reportedly told police a woman had stuffed four Play Station controllers in her purse and left without paying for them. The employee said the woman ignored his shout to stop, and fled in a gold Chrysler. 

Police later arrested Catherine M. Eck of Pana in connection with the incident. She was processed at the Tayorville Police Department and released on a notice to appear.
