Taylorville Kiwanis Hear About Member's Trip to Russia

 width=The Taylorville Kiwanis Club heard from one of its own members at its weekly luncheon Tuesday at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium.


Carol Alexander, a member of the Kiwanis Club, presented a program on her recent trip to Russia to promote her book “Liberty the Pig.”

Alexander described how different Russian life is from American life, as well as showing a slideshow with pictures of the trip.


Alexander presented the Moscow Library with a copy of her book, along with many gifts from Taylorville including a proclaimation from the City. Alexander brought back a host of gifts from the Moscow Library in return.


5 guests attended Tuesday's Taylorville Kiwanis Club meeting, including 4 members of the Taylorville High School Kiwanis Key Club.


The Taylorville Kiwanis Club is part of global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Weekly meetings are held Tuesdays at noon at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium. For information on the club, go to taylorvillekiwanis.com.
