Judgeship Election Results Finally Announced; Karmeier Retained; Siemer Wins

Illinois Supreme Court 5th Circuit Judge Lloyd Karmeier was retained by voters in Tuesday's election.  Final numbers show that Karmeier received 60-point-7 percent; he needed 60 percent to be retained.

And, results are finally available in the 4th Judicial Circuit Judge race between Democrat Ericka Sanders of Salem, and Republican Martin Siemer of Effingham.

Siemer topped Sanders across the circuit, with just under 42-thousand votes, to Sanders' over 33-thousand votes.

The 4th Judicial Circuit extends from Christian and Shelby Counties, south into Southern Illinois.

Siemer will replace retiring judge Sherri Tungate.
