It may not have been a deer this time, but an animal in the road caused an accident Thursday (10-23) that left a local man injured.

 The Christian County Sheriff's Office reports 29 year-old Jason L. Morgan of Pana was traveling south on Route 51 just north of Assumption when an animal of some kind came into the road, causing him to swerve left onto the median. He apparently struck two traffic signs before coming to rest on the shoulder of the northbound lane.

 Morgan reportedly suffered cuts to his hands because of the broken glass. The report doesn't specify whether or not he sought medical attention.
