Several local high school football teams clinched playoff berths in the Illinois High School Assocation playoff pairings announced Saturday night by the organization. Announcement of the pairings were broadcast live on Miller Media Group stations WTIM and WSVZ.
Dates and times of games will be announced by the competing schools on Monday.
In Class 5-A, number 3 seed Taylorville with a record of 8-and-one, will host number 6 seed Troy Triad, with a record of 6-and-3. Taylorville's playoff games will be heard on Newstalk WTIM THE BIG 870 AM and 96-point-3 FM.
In Class 2-A, number 8 seed Nokomis with a record of 6-and-3, will be at number one seed Lawrenceville, which has a record of 8-and-one. If sponsorships are secured, the Nokomis playoff games will be heard on NEW Country 104-point-one.
Also in Class 2-A, number 5 seed Tuscola with a record of 7-and-2, will travel to number 4 seed Shelbyville which has a record of 7-and-2. Shelbyville's playoff games will be heard on WSVZ NEW Country 98-point-3. It was announced Saturday night that Shelbyville's first playoff game will take place Saturday afternoon at 2pm.
And in Class 1-A, number 10 seed White Hall North Greene, which has a record of 7-and-2, will travel to number 7 seed Pawnee, which has a record of 8-and-one. Depending on securing sponsorships, Pawnee's playoff games will be heard on WRAN groovy 97.3.
