The Christian County "In God We Trust" campaign will kick off with an opening ceremony this Friday morning at 10 at the Christian County Courthouse in Taylorville.
The campaign is an effort aimed at seeing the national motto - IN GOD WE TRUST - affirmed and displayed throughout the county. The local group is joining with thousands of other citizens across the United States who reject the ongoing and ever-increasing attempts to remove God and prayer from every vestige of pulic life.
The plan for the Christian County "In God We Trust" campaign includes distributing posters with our national motto and state motto free of charge to churches, businesses, schools and governmental bodies, among other places, and requesting they display the poster in a prominent place. The poster was designed by one of the group’s own members. They'll also have bumper stickers printed up to distribute to citizens for display on their cars or even on the windows of their homes.
In God We Trust - Put It Up is a nationwide initiative of the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation (CPCF).
Delbra Pratt of the local group tells Regional Radio News there will be a short ceremony at the courthouse, then teams will disburse throughout the county delivering posters free of charge to businesses.
