Recent questions surrounding local ambulance service has stirred up controversy in Taylorville. The City Council voted to allow 911 callers to request Taylorville City Ambulance service in addition to the two existing ambulance services.

 Patty Hornbuckle, CEO of the Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce says replacing private services for public ones will not be helpful to the local economy:

The Taylorville City Council voted 6 to 2 Monday (10-06) to allow callers to request the City ambulance, which is currently prohibited by local ordinance.
