New Royalty Crowned Saturday at Taylorville Chamber Chillifest

The first day of the 29th Annual Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce Chillifest, featured the pageant to name a new Little Miss, Little Mister, and Junior Miss Chilli Peppers.

 

14 participated in the Little Miss contest, 4 in the Little Mister, and 8 candidates competed for the Junior Miss Chilli Pepper title.

 

In the Little Miss contest, the 2014 Little Miss Chilli Pepper named was Liberty Courtaway, the 5-year-old daughter of Eric and Shanda Courtaway of Taylorville, who attends kindergarten at North School in Taylorville. First runner-up was Taryn Clarke, the 6-year-old daughter of Tharin and Alicia Clarke of Morrisonville, who attends Morrisonville Grade School. Second runner-up was Julie Wayman, the 5-year-old daughter of David and Jennifer Wayman of Taylorville, who attends pre-school at St. Mary's School in Taylorville.

 

In the Little Mister contest, the 2014 Little Mister Chilli Pepper named was Jack Dunkirk, the 4-year-old son of Kevin and Samantha Dunkirk of Morrisonville, who attends pre-K at Morrisonville School. First runner-up was Dylan Dawson, the 6-year-old son of Matt and Patty Dawson of Taylorville, who is a first grader at North Elementary School in Taylorville.

 

In the Junior Miss contest, the winner was Faith Maxwell, the 12-year-old daughter of Robin Maxwell of Taylorville, who is a 7th grader at Taylorville Junior High School. First runner-up was Eloauna Wilkins, the 12-year-old daughter of Heather and Luis Wilkins of Taylorville, who is a 7th grader at Taylorville Junior High School. Second runner-up was Hope Bruss (pron. Bruce), the eleven-year-old daughter of Amber and Jeff Bruss of Kincaid, who is a 6th grader at South Fork Junior High School. Maxwell also was voted Miss Congenality.

 

Amy Kent of Morrisonville and Courtney Dees of Taylorville co-chaired the 3 pageants again this year.
