An accident on the Mt. Auburn Blacktop sent two Taylorville residents to the hospital.

 According to police, 59 year-old Dennis Klump of Taylorville was westbound on 1600 North Road, approaching the intersection with the Mt. Auburn Blacktop. Klump told officers he came to a stop, but failed to see a vehicle coming from his right. Klump reportedly t-boned a vehicle driven by a 16 year-old male. The impact pushed the car into a cornfield. The driver and his passenger, 33 year-old Melanie Sidwell of Taylorville reportedly suffered minor injuries. Both went to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for treatment. 

 Klump was issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop sign.
