2 Miller Media Group Stations Raise $2650 for United Way of Christian County

 width=2 of the Miller Media Group Radio Stations in Taylorville, asked listeners to donate to this year's United Way of Christian County campaign on Thursday during the annual United Way Telethon.

And, listeners responded with some 26-hundred 50-dollars being raised to benefit the 28 agencies funded by the United Way of Christian County.

M-M-G president Randal J. Miller, and United Way executive director Malia Hepburn, co-hosted the telethon from 8:30 til 10 Thursday morning on Newstalk WTIM THE BIG 870 AM and 96.3 FM. The telethon then aired for the first time from 10 til noon, on WRAN groovy 97.3.

During the telethon on WRAN, Hepburn shared with listeners how she got involved with the United Way.

One of the funded agencies is the Taylorville Community Garden, and Pastor Bill Kerns talked about how children in the neighborhood where the garden is located, have offered to help.

Between the 2 stations, 26-hundred 50-dollars were raised for toward year's United Way campaign.

The Miller Media Group and the United Way thank all the businesses and residents that called in their pledges. This fall's United Way fund-raising campaign continues thru mid-October, with a goal of 155-thousand dollars.
