Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 9-24-2014


 Douglas Michael Ohl, 34, of Assumption was arrested on September 23rd on a bond forfeiture warrant for contempt of court. 



 On September 19, Gregory Webb, 56, of Decatur was southbound on Illinois Rt. 48 approximately one-quarter mile south of 775 East Road when a deer entered the roadway.  Webb was unable to avoid striking the deer with his 2013 Mercedes Sedan. 

 On September 18, Luke Puckett, 44, of Stonington was backing out of a parking stall.  Juan Brooks, 58, of Florissant, Missouri was pulling into the parking lot and had stopped behind Puckett to let people walk across the parking lot.  Puckett backed out of the parking stall, not seeing Brooks behind him and struck Brooks 2015 Buick Lacrosse. 



 On September 23 at 1:45 a Taylorville police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an IVC violation.  Subsequent to the stop, Jacquline R. Girard, 30, of Owaceco was arrested for driving while license were suspended. 

 On September 23, officers were on a routine patrol when they saw a female they knew to have a valid Illinois drivers license.  Upon further investigation, Chloe Windell, 20, of Taylorville was arrested for driving on a suspended license. 

 On September 19, officers were dispatched to a two vehicle acciedent on Cheney and Park Ave.  Marcy Montgomers, 49, of Taylorville state that Jean Scallions, 72, of Taylorville stopped for another vehicle ans she was not able to stop and struck the rear of Scallions 2001 Honda Odyssey.  Scallions stated a vehicle stopped in front of her and she stopped and she was struck in the rear end by Montgomery.  Montgomery was vehicle was towed from the scene.  Scallions stated her neck was a little sore and she was going to the hospital on her own.  Marcy Montgomery was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
